VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

eScrip

This is our easiest fundraiser.  Through the e-scrip program you simply sign-up your Safeway Club Card and any other cards you would like and the school automatically receives a percentage from Safeway and other participating companies based on what you spend in their store.

Our parent volunteer would publicize the program; send home information to families and work to sign up families not yet enrolled in the program.  Past efforts have included a sign up table in the parking lot at drop off time and making forms available at the entrance to the school.  Each year, we need a parent volunteer to help coordinate this program.

Forms are available at the entrance to the school, or you can register on-line at www.escrip.com.  Please use our Group Name: St Dunstans Preschool and Group ID# 10416249.  For questions or additional information, please contact parent volunteer, Erica Sanborn.

Scholastic Book Orders

Scholastic Books offers great buys on age appropriate books for our children and allows the school to earn points to use to purchase new books for our classrooms.  Our parent volunteer would pass out Scholastic Book order forms via children’s folders and collect monthly orders, place the orders, organize and distribute the books when the orders are received.  Parents also have the opportunity to place their orders directly online at www.scholastic.com (online orders please use: Class Code: J6XN3)  Each year, we need a parent volunteer to help coordinate this program.

Please look for forms throughout the year in your child’s folder.  For questions or additional information, please contact parent volunteer, Reagan Schoone.

See’s Candy Fundraiser

See’s Candy Sales are held during the month of November.  Parents collect orders from their family, friends, and co-workers.  Proceeds from this fundraiser are used for new classroom supplies and equipment.  This very successful fundraiser usually nets about $3,000.  Each year, we need a parent volunteer to help coordinate this program and additional volunteers to help sell candy following the 10am church services during the month of November and to help organize orders when the candy arrives (typically the first week of December).

Your See’s Candy Fundraiser Packets are currently in your child’s folder.  For questions or additional information, please contact parent volunteer, Lisa Falkel.

Teacher Appreciation Day

Teacher Appreciation Day is Friday, March 23, 2012.  This is a day to celebrate our wonderful teachers and to show them our appreciation for all that they do for our children!  In the past parents have brought in a simple continental breakfast (fruit, muffins, scones, coffee/tea, etc.), flowers or planned a lunch for the teachers.  The parent volunteer would be responsible for requesting help from one or two parents from each classroom to assist with bringing in an item for that day.   Each year we need a parent volunteer to help coordinate this event.

Classroom Parties

Listed below are classroom parties you can plan or participate in during the school year.  These parties are planned with the individual teachers and are held separate from each classroom.  Generally a party will consist of planning a snack, lunch and one art activity for the children.  Details may vary by class age and teacher preference.  Each class has a budget and your child’s teacher can provide you with that information.
